I suppose you are an non-pmts instructor of a very high level. u r judging a pmts student from a non-pmts point of view. I m not saying you dont know skiing. i m saying u may not have sufficient pmts knowledge to judge pmts skiing, less to say trampoline turns. if u dont believe me post you vid or even a two footed release or BPST to pmts as brave as our master did in epics. lets see how they rate your skiing in pmts point of view. Then we have confidence in what you said. I did it many times, i know i m an intermediate as Harald said i m ok in the pmts fundamental drill two footed release.pku 寫:As an ski instructor, 基本功 means more like an basic parellel turn ( round turns) with control speed and rythym.
Not trying to argue, norm is the one trying to use speed to hide wedgepku 寫:As an ski instructor, 基本功 means more like an basic parellel turn ( round turns) with control speed and rythym.
刻滑兄fucas too much on carving few years ago, carving is more advance and the consequence is speed then he switch to ski short turns and try skiing bumps. What I see from his video is always turn and slide
On normal skiing, 99% 刻滑兄 can come down difficult terrain better than Norman beacuse he got much more experience.
Norman can only talk so when he face the reality, he'll got nervious and can't do anything. Basic can't help much once you got nervious especially Norman's basic is only ok not really good.
I can bet 刻滑兄 will not have wedge regardless of speed. He can turn from static position without wedge.norman ![]()
carver, you really should find a chance to attend a camp. studying by book or on internet has its limit. you will find it very different if you have been to a camp.ams 寫:I suppose you are an non-pmts instructor of a very high level. u r judging a pmts student from a non-pmts point of view. Just compare your skiing with you master ' harald ' See how much difference between you and your master, not even 10% look alike.ams 寫:I suppose you are an non-pmts instructor of a very high level. u r judging a pmts student from a non-pmts point of view. stupid or not is the issue, here is a intermidate skier prove himself can not come down with a round ski track. A smart instructor will never negative comments the student because students are the boss. That,s why you always go back to pay him.ams 寫:well stupid or not is not the issue, whether can come down with a round ski track is another issue. like master norman, u never try u ll never fail.![]()

there are limitations in both money and time. i can only practice through ski trips. its my reality.skier888 寫:carver, you really should find a chance to attend a camp. studying by book or on internet has its limit. you will find it very different if you have been to a camp.
Totally agree with this point.skier888 寫: studying by book or on internet has its limit. you will find it very different if you have been to a camp.
You are comparing him to the first person who works out the whole thing on how to ski the modern shaped skis. I am not saying he invented the techniques but he puts it all together when no one else has. For the specific skills he is teaching, I have not seen anyone else articulate as well and as clear as he has.pku 寫:Just compare your skiing with you master ' harald ' See how much difference between you and your master, not even 10% look alike.
There are only a few primary movements. If you know what they are, you can see whether he is making those movements. These movement requirements could be very intense and use a different set of muscles. That is why it is hard to learn without going to camp. If a skier does not have the right intensity and uses the correct muscles, the result won't be the same. So I may agree with your observation but I may not agree with your conclusion.pku 寫:J
If your want to claim yourself a pmts student, at least you ski more the way they ski.
See how your master steer both skis nice and smooth and how you turn your skis and let the skis slide.
See how your master's stance " two foot side by side and your ouside skis way behide you inside ski and your foot is so wide apart because it slip out so much.
He does not steer skis because it is not a primary movement.pku 寫: See how your master steer both skis nice and smooth and how you turn your skis and let the skis slide.

I think HH is to tip the skis.skier888 寫:

Agree. Obviously, the DVDs and books do not provide the detailed explanation on how to use the muscles.skier888 寫: These movement requirements could be very intense and use a different set of muscles. That is why it is hard to learn without going to camp.
I ordered the new DVD before my ski trip. However, I have not yet received the DVDskier888 寫:I watched that new DVD. It has quite a few of your favorite dolphin turn footage. It is based on foot pullback. The last segment is he riding ICON 80 ripping powder, quite a sight

There are not many skiers can ski like him. His blue level instructors certainly ski like him but there are very few of them. You can pick them out on the mountain very easily because it is beautiful skiing.

He does not steer skis because it is not a primary movement.
I don't know why he put Richard Berger ( the guy in the bright green pants ) in the video. The level of skiing is like to compare a kid in the kindergarden with a professor.
h.harb 寫:Very nice movements, some fine tuning with alignment will make it much smoother and more progressive. Tough to do over the internet.
