Well, snowrider and skier666 have already provided some good info, here's only my 2 cents. It really depends on how long, how many places, how many people come skiing, and when. Reno has a lot of cheap motels, but farther away (an hour drive to north shore and an hour and a half to South Lake Tahoe); if you don't have a car, it is more convenient to stay in South Lake Tahoe or Stateline, Nevada side casinos. They are shuttle buses that running all day to and from Heavenly, hourly to Sierra-at-Tahoe (25 miles from town), and once or twice daily to Kirkwood (55 miles from town), and I think there maybe a five dollars fee). If you stay close to the Stateline (where we locals call "downtown") you can walk to all your après-skiing activities.pku 寫:Want to plan the budget to go skiing on Lake Tahoe and stay in Reno.
Anybody can help?
It depends but I do stay at Reno several times a year. Some friends like to stay there.pku 寫:Thanks for your reply.
Usually where do you stay when you go there?
你可以到 Heavenly, Squaw 或是 Northstar ski-in/out.

Norman's "Ski Lake Tahoe" map is an upside down one.
I've only visited Squaw, Heavenly, and Kirkwood. I love them all, especially Squaw.
Squaw has an European style cable cart and a lot of beautiful rocks/cliffs. One of the most enjoyable things there is watching people jump off cliff. I never tried jumping cliff, and I don't have the guts to do that. But it's a special experience watching cliff jumping while you are having lunch.
Heavenly, of course, has stunning lake view, long runs, almost all high speed lifts. And you ski from state to state (i.e., CA - NV). I enjoy their Olympic run.
Kirkwood in the beginning was not in our plan. We were told by ski shop that Kirkwood has been locals' favorite, so we went there. I still remember the Sunrise chair. I did not try those famous but tough trails, but I did enjoy skiing those trails under Sunrise. One thing that I don't like about Kirk is its slow chairs - it does not have many high speed there.

The chairs are very slow. The Cornice chair is the only high speed chair for non-beginnersnowrider 寫:Norman's "Ski Lake Tahoe" map is an upside down one.
