After 33 days of dry weather, much anticipated "snow" storm has come and gone, and left a dismal 2" of fresh snow on the mountains, pathetic indeed. Hopefully, it is the beginning of a late snow season. But on the bright side, we've got "disgustingly gorgeous" days to ski in. With warm temperatures, the man- made stuff is actually "fluffy," and good weather to make some turns in, but skiing is minimal.
The look can be deceiving. It is mostly man-snow on 33 days old snow, and the trails are perfectly groomed every night, but they won't last for 2 hours, then they become "bumpy and icy," locals call them "Cat Trap" (中級手的陷井), as some smart cats would fall all over the places; have fun.

The Line on my right hand side was a terrible line although the bumps didn't look that big. my son ( taller and heavier than me ) can hide himself in the trough. I don't think I can make 6 turns there since the trough line is so straight that I can't escape to make a bigger turn.
Although I didn't ski smoothly down, I can still make consecutive turns down. The bumps here looks bigger than those in Japan. I don't need to ski the zipper line here.
By the way, Norman was skiing in turtle speed. I don't think he really get in the bumps. There is groom on the side of the moguls.

I think that you're going to kick his ass for sure, especially when he tries to hurry to catch up with you, he would stumble and fall, and that's why I'd like to see he and you ski "together." If you ski hard, he'll be in trouble. Anyway, only a few days now, rest well, and have fun in Japan.

Well, both short term and long term forecasts are not good, it is pretty much 2012 all over again. But, Tahoe's "real" snow season is in February, and people are also talking about "miracle March" like 2012, so yes, let's keep our fingers crossed ...
