Big White is actually quite famous for the local Vancouver people and our Vancouver ski group just came back from a short stay last week. Would like to take the chance to introduce Big White to more Hong Kong people. :D With enough interest, maybe Ryan will arrange a group tour to Big White in the future.
FYI, Big White is 2nd largest ski resort in BC, Canada (behind Whistler). It's located at BC interior where you could find much better powder (dry and powdery snow better than the famous Whistler). That's why the local Vancouver people enjoy going there again and again even we have many closer resorts. For us, we are repeat customers every year as well.
For us travelling from Vancouver, it took us ~5 hrs drive under okay winter condition. Like other US/Canada resorts, there are many hotels and rental units as accommodation choices. This time, we rented a big ski-in/ski-out unit for the 15 of us.
This trip is particularly special for us because we have special guests in Big White. Our new friends are from Australia who spent last 4 seasons training at Big White. Some of you may know her since she worked at Slope8. Hint hint.. :)
Our new friends are both very good/strong skiers and been trained professionally at Big White. With their connection at Big White, we managed to get our greatest surprise. We managed to meet and ski together with Josh Foster. For those who don't know who Josh is, Josh is a CSIA L4/ex-demo team/Director of Snow Sports at Big White. Search youtube for all his ski tips videos. Seeing him in person is like seeing our idol.
