I have visited the PMTS website as suggested by ams and Norman. I have also read this thread in the forum. http://pmts.org/pmtsforum/viewtopic.php ... 912#p30221
It seems the accredited PMTS instructor is better than PSIA a lot. Do you agree PMTS is the strongest method in the world?

Absolutely not! Did you see the thread? Some contents are extracted for your easy reference (I guess h.harb is the founder).
'a Green Level PMTS instructor can and should teach a level 6 or 7 PSIA student.'
'all Green Level PMTS instructors can and should be able to help Level 2 and many Level 3 PSIA instructors to ski better'
It's a very scientific approach but life is too short...haha!

就是大師說大法好那你證他不好給我看看便知有多難. life is too short is always true, I would just spend more time learning whatever i like to learn from any school. of course difference people take different thing as fun, just that what I worry is judging from passion is not fair for the general public.

psia level 7: Level Seven
Level Seven skiers ski controlled parallel turns and can ski very well on blue trails. Level Seven skiers can control their speed and rhythm on black diamond trails, but they are looking to ski on challenging trails with better style. Level Seven skiers can adjust the size and length of their turns and are learning to ski on a variety of different types of snow and terrain.
pmts green level instructor ability chart: GreenGroomed blue skiingRelease consistently using the old stance leg and foot as the initiators.
Both skis maintain the same edge angle and rate of change of edge angle, and shins remain parallel, during transition to engagement.
Both skis continue to increase angle to surface as turn progresses using ski design to determine turn size and direction.
DemonstrationsAll direction changes begin with a movement toward the little-toe edge.
The stance ski remains passive in transition and changes direction through reaction to free foot actions.
ok, how to proof when they are talking about very different skills or technique

How can I prove the statement? I'm sure it's over my ability honestly.
Anyway, I'm very happy to tell you that the PMTS online materials are very good for me. I spent a lot of time to read the materials and threads in the past few days. The technical discussions are very scientific and logical but the tone is a bit over sometimes. Maybe I understand why you like PMTS so much.

Don't think too complicated! Just told you my ability
The tone is related to the threads in PMTS forum not you. Hope you could re-read my previous post.
Maybe it is my incorrect perception from the threads in this forum. May I ask you - do you like PMTS?
Anyway, positive or negative thinking, it's up to you

I do think PMS instructors are better in general but for a different reason. There is only a limited number of them so the quality variation is small and the standard is probably higer for the same reason.

PMS has many videos of excellent skiing. That can be misleading because the videos are done by a small number of accomplished skiers. I think it is difficult to achieve that level if you don't ski 50 days a year.

Good observation!
I mentioned in the previous post I like the PMTS materials and spent a lot of time to read it in the past few days. I have also found that the performance of the followers (in the Movement Analysis and Video) is huge difference from the founder. So, totally agree with your point. Perhaps, a skier may achieve the similar performance if he has an excellent talent and few years training.

Thanks for your kind words but it's not possible. As I mentioned in the other thread, I'm reading the book, Essentials of Skiing. It gives me an idea of his approach and terminology. I would be very happy if you could share your experience and understanding of PMTS to me

Just for fun when I recalled that 大師 is classifed as a PSIA level 6. Even mistaken as level 9. Can Green Level PMTS instructor teach 大師? :face (334):
ams 寫:...Can Green Level PMTS instructor teach 大師?...
Thanks, ams. I like that video so much.
I'm sure it's not possible a Green level PMTS instructor could teach Norman because I don't believe the instructor's characteristics are stronger than Norman
To be honest, I have never seen a skier who has the passion like Norman. It's not that easy to write a series of practical and theoretical chapters for teaching I have to emphasize that all the materials are free of charge and also he provides this website for discussion with the learners. I would like to use this Chinese idiom - 無私的奉獻! Please let me know if you could find another skier to provide that level of ski materials and facilities for general public.
Of course, the instructor could show the PMTS techniques for Norman's evaluation but I'm sure Norman will help him to deeply know how amazing about 大成 Finally, I would like to say - 'Norman, 加油! I'm waiting for your new chapter '

very true! we can talk here because of 大師's hard work. if u aware, some people here like myself, norman and maybe other skiers are not welcome to talk about skiing in some other forum.
