Snowrider has done it. He probably will give you suggestion.
It maybe a little early right now. You can check this site. They have good deals.

You can also check casino web sites like this
http://www.grandsierraresort.com/activi ... i-resorts/
Mt Rose is the closest if you stay in Reno.

Hi pku - skiing Lake Tahoe is a very enjoyable thing because you will be skiing with the largest and the most beautiful mountain lake in america. The view is one word - beautiful. It has the highest concentration of ski resorts (in the world) in a short distance (30? miles).
Fly to Reno, but don't stay in Reno. Take airport shuttle (e.g., South Tahoe Express if you go to south for around $50 round trip) to your casino hotel. You will need to decide where to stay - north or south lake. That will be your base camp (hotel). You take ski bus and go skiing every morning and come back every afternoon after resorts are closed. No rental car is needed - a big saving. Each resort has its ski bus schedule, and most of them are free (while some longer distance ones charge like $5).
Stay at a casino hotel for convenience. Ask for ski package before you book the hotel. Don't bother to buy lift tickets (e.g., Super Pass) beforehand. We stayed at Mont Bleu (south lake), and the ski packge provided two lift ticket vouchers for each night of stay (in double occupancy basis because one room has two queens or one king). We redeemed the voucher from inside the hotel (not at the resort). You can pick any resort you want, so you can change plan the last minute.
Ski rental - you can rent skis from the hotel's ski shop or from outside (they will deliver to your hotel room). You can also bring your own skis without renting. We brought our own boots and rent skis there (and poles come with no charge). We were luck to hit two powder days, so we rented two days of powder skis, and regular skis for the rest of days. One of my friends insisted to use regular skis for powder, and then he had a hard time those two days. (But next time, I'll bring my AC-50 with me without renting.)
One a side note, don't expect any good restaurant there. Buffet is the best bet for you. We ate through every casino's buffet in that area. One time we took a taxi to an expensive sushi restaurant, but we are very disappointed by their food.

Furthermore, when you book the hotel, book this way:
Say, you want to ski 5 days, you book a room of 5 day-night ski package (so you get 10 ticket vouchers and 5 nights of stay). Then add one night without ski packge to that room for your arrival day. Of course, you don't need to do so if you arrive in the morning because you can start skiing right away.
Some of my friends booked same number of nights of ski pages, so they got more vouchers than they needed. They them sold their additional vouchers to other people.

Lake Tahoe ski resorts are divided among south (Kirkwood, Heavenly and Sierra-at-Tahoe) and north (all others). I'll stick to the resorts on the north since you are staying on the north side.
Steeps and terrains: Squaw
Intermediate groomer or cruising.: Northstar
Park : Northstar
Trees : Northstar
Bad weather: Northstar
Squaw is much larger, more lifts, chutes, steeps are easy to find.
Northstar is your best bet when the weather is bad. The mountain is well protected and tree skiing on the back side is good during a storm. It also has a Burton park and superpipe. I usually stick around the back side or Lookout Mountain to avoid the crowd. It has some steep slopes but it is kind of straight with no terrain variations. The black runs here are closer to the blues at Squaw. Many skiers can ski black at Northstar but not elsewhere. I have not been to Northstar for a few years.
Alpine meadow is next to Squaw but smaller so you can skip it.
Mt Rose is closest to Reno. In my opinion, one only needs the Magnum chair on the front side to visit the whole mountain, there is one lift for backside if I don't count the small lift out of chute. Chute is a long steep run if it is open.
Northstar and Squaw are more resort like with many shops. Mt Rose is more like a local hill.
There are some good Casino restaurants in Reno (North Lake Tahoe).

:goodgoodeat (1):

You can visit Kirkwood if you have the opportunity. It has many natural features and the terrain is very interesting. You can also find many steep lines.
Heavenly has great lake view. It also has steep runs and interesting terrain. The problem is that it is not consistent and you need to have good snow condition to ski those places. You also need to plan ahead how you want to ski it because there are a lot of traversing.
I basically will suggest Squaw and Kirkwood. Visit Northstar for 1 or 2 days if there are intermediates in your group or when the weather is bad. Don't go to Squaw without checking when weather is bad because the lifts will be closed. Don't go to Kirkwood during bad weather because the road condition will be dangerous.

你可以到 Heavenly, Squaw 或是 Northstar ski-in/out.
