Let's start a thread about this topic. Hey ... you guys don't tamper or pollute this thread with verbal biting and fighting. Here are from our previous discussions:
In order to make everyone happy, I have a good idea. For the one who hosts the event, he will be able to ski in his area without incurring the cost of air. He then needs to provide the lodging to those who come to the event. For those who are not in the local area will need to purchase air tickets, but in exchange, they can save the money on lodging from the hosting guy(s).
How does that sound?"

"I would suggest to hold a friendly PK event not involving any big money betting. No matter who wins, I still see you guys masters - one ski master and one Taichi master. If you guys insist to bet the big money, I am honored to make everything fair. I would prefer to pay my own travel expense to go there to see you guys do a friendly PK (as long as you guys provide me a place to stay) rather than you guys pay my travel expense while PK-ing with big money bet. Why? A friendly study group to learn the skill from each other!"
taichiskiing 寫:Sounds good, but it won't work, as we're not in a movie. And, I have no use with the money that I'm going to win, and Whistler may be big, but comparing to skiing in Tahoe's sunny weather, fantastic scenery, variety in terrain, Whistler may not be worth the trip.
Nevertheless, you are talking trash. And there's no need to shout, I think we all can hear/see you well. 用喊的狀膽? And I suggest you Whistler group tune down your rhetoric, whatever the game you play you've already lost, trash this forum won't hurt me, it only trashes you Whistler group's own name.
Let's make it at the Olympic Downhill, Heavenly, and I'll give you the same deal.
pku 寫:One run is not enough to show the technique and is too short, the runs I suggested is over around 1800 meter vertical and includes steep and bumpy, almost 40 degree and the runs, then bumps and groomed. The runs you suggested sounds like groomed run only and is not too long, how much vertical. Something at least 1000 meter vertical.
I also need Snowrider as judge ( he is one of the guy suggested this event ) and Skier888 as the guide ( I need few days to know the mountain ) and we need to give Snowrider 50% deposit, so you give him $2000.00 and I give him $1500.00

"Good to see the PK event is going to happen next season. I think that the location does not matter. Eitehr Heavenly or Whistler is good. But I think that a fair game is to compete as many different types of runs as possible, not to limit to a specific type of terrain.
You guys are talking about Heavenly's Olympic run. I know that one. Our group visited heavenly couple years ago and we skied a whole afternoon on that run. It’s a long groomed run. If I remember correctly, it’s a blue trail and a good run for carving and racing. However, I would suggest to add some other types of terrains to the competition list (e.g., some steep run, some mogul trail, and maybe some glade?).
It will be my honor to witness this event. If it does happen, I will video the whole competition!"

Let's use this thread to discuss anything about the PK event. Any suggestion is welcome.

That alone is worth collecting video for the entertainment value.

What happened I had the time of my life skiing We are getting bombed again now
I suggest the following race courses
Groomed run - Squaw/KT-22/Olympic Lady - Olympic downhill run; > 35 degree
Bump run - Squaw/KT-22/West Face; > 35 degree
Tree run - Squaw/Red Dog; 35 degree
I am not familiar Heavenly. I have had several heavenly free tickets from the Warren Miller movie but I never went to Heavenly even when I was staying just minutes away from it at South Lake Tahoe.
I'll bet this race is never going to happen if it involves money. Delusional about one's own skiing is one thing, but proving it against other who is obviously better is another..... just look at norman ma.
How about acknowledge defeat publicly and the losing system is not the best Loser will promise never says a bad word about winning system and will only says positive thing about winning system.

Welcome back! you missed the fun how our great master use a different tone in the other forum yet still get classified "advanced BEGINNER" Now even his trusted expert TDK ask him restrict his coaching to total BEGINNERS. As a result something very weir happen to this forum. Obviously there r words fights going on in all the threads. Becareful you also have been dragged to it even though you were on holiday.

35 Degree is steep, sounds exciting but I think Taichiski got the Heavenly season pass so he won't spend extra money
If you got free ticket, would you mind giving them to me if the event happens.
勝敗是兵家常事, just give myself some motivation to better my skiing.
Taichiskiing got 30 years skiing experience and ski more than 100 days. I won't underestimate him. He got good balance once he feel comfortable.
It's good to see you guys coming back.

Well, if you want to do it in the woods, I'll raise the bet to $5,000. Here's a run from the top to the bottom of Naveda Woods,

Too much maneuvering; I don't do "gapper's challenge," so my money stay with me. I like do thing spontaneously, so I won't plan on it, or practice for it (nevertheless, you can do whatever you want to prepare it); if you show up with the cash, we race; if you don't show up or show up without money then we don't race, I won't hold my breath for it. Do you want to set up the date for it?

Show up with the cash doesn't mean I have to give the cash when I lost, I just owe you the money and keep my money
Same thing to you, I can't force you to pay me when you lost. You just owe me the money.
USA owe the most money to the world and still didn't pay, paying interest only.
Canada is not much better.
For 50% deposit, at least the winning side can get 50% cash and 50% debt from the loser.
The glade run on Blackcomb-whistler is much more bumpy. The run you show is quite smooth.
I am pretty sure to make a trip there and hope you can be our guide. Plan a bargain trip for me!

Or is it ok to give cheque
Taichi will make up a hundred reasons so the end result is Taichi run away. He is still the forum king like crazy boy, Norman or Admin.

No, you are not going to wiggle out the losing by "owing" the money; we'll put the money in a "pot" before the race, give it to the referee to guard it, and the winner takes the "pot." Nevertheless, the question remains, while the referee is "guarding" our price money, who is "guarding" the referee? Would you like to set up the date? Or continue wiggling?

You worry that the judge might take the money and run - it ends up that the judge becomes the actual *winner* and you two both losers? Let me tell you, if you guys put the money in a pot, then you are actually running into this kind of risk because you don't know where the judge lives.
It will be safer for you if I give you my address so that you guys can mail me checks (one from each). In that way, you know where to find me.
Or another idea is to make Norman the escrow account. Send the check to Norman, and then have him send the money to the winner after PK. You should not need to worry about Norman because he is the admin (or owner) of this web site.

For sure I trust you, just be careful somebody may rob you.
