taichiskiing 寫:Do you know why your trainer said you are not going to pass your L2? ... I see his skiing, fluid, stable, and dynamic, better than some of your PSIA L3s.
... No ways, don't think that pku can keep up with him on the moguls ...

Taichiskiing - I said that Heckelman's skiing won't even be able to meet our PSIA L2 standard. Please do not twist. A friendly gathering (not pk) next season might be able to help you understand more about PSIA and CSIA.

Norman - are you also saying that you are so good that you are able to see the difference between a good skiing and a bad one? Or are you also saying that your skill has reached the level of PSIA L3 so that you are qualified to comment something like a master here? You should attend this gathering event next season in order to know yourself more (or understand how bad your skiing is). Don't worry, we will teach you more than a lesson (for free). :face (334):

No, I didn't twist your words but what they reflect; you put down Heckelman's skiing only because you have a disagreement with norman, that's where you lost your objective, (Heckelman skied way better than you gave him credit for,) and that's where you lost your professionalism.

You [all] welcome to visit for a friendly gathering, pk (what the heck "pk" stands for, punch & kicking?) is pku's idea, not mine, and I don't think it's going to happen; I was playing his words to find out where his skiing at, not bad for a recreational skier, but claiming L2 (at least what beg claimed) and bashing me (personality attack) and not to discuss skiing issues are what make him a "terminal L2."

I think I know more about the "functions" that PSIA and CSIA do than you L1/L2, and you do need to break out that L1/L2 cocoon to reach higher level skiing, for PSIA L3, and CISA, L4. Beyond that, there are "formless" skiing still, and that would be the "line-skiing," then it doesn't matter when you come from, you'll be skiing all alike, the "line" depicts the skiing,

機會難得, I think you all should try to make it. It will be super fun, I bet.

CalTran clears the raods very quickly. You will not have problem driving around. Bring chains with you if you are not driving 4WD.

Officially it is not OK, but I have not seen caltran gives driver any problems. drive within speed limit in bad weather. It is a good idea to have good tires when you come.

I changed 4 tires last november and they are on and off road tire. My friend said it's ok on Snow but not good on ice. May need to buy 4 winter tires than.

Thanks For your information.

No, that's not the reason. Even if I don't have any disagreement with Norman, I'll still say what I observe and believe - I don't see Hckelman ski anything special. Another truth is that I haven't found any credibility about Hckelman's skiing. If you by chance see anything about his credential, please share.

You are really out dated! I don't know where the "PK" term comes from, but it's widely used in mainland long before it gets popular in taiwan. Maybe your interpretation "punch & kicking" makes a lot sense. It's actual meaning is 單挑.

I really like Tahoe area. View is super beautiful. I am talking to my wife to see if we can make this trip.

We drive 4x4 with all-season tires on ice here in the East all the time. You should not have problem. Winter tires are, of course, better than all-seaon tires. You know that the key thing is not to apply brake when it gets slippery.

Norman - I don't know who on this forum shows more "自大"?! You don't need to "澄清" anything as people might see that as your execuse. Taichiskiing has the best english writing skill here, so I would recommend you to consult him about what my post really means.

Then you really need to improve your MA skills. The difference between "instructing" and "coaching" is in "instructing," you give the detailed step by step instructions with "your own" knowledge, techniques, and skills, so the non-initiated students can follow and learn, and that's low level teaching. "Coaching" is to use "your students"/clients' knowledge/ability to enhance their performance. Tiger Woods doesn't need any instruction for how to hitting the balls, but he may need some advices from time to time to deal with some special circumstances, and that's why he has a "coach" not a "instructor."

That is to say, you cannot judge others' skiing by your own system/rules only, you need to "know" the way of "other schools" and draw wisdom from them to make your skiing knowledge/techniques complete.
Another truth is that I haven't found any credibility about Hckelman's skiing. If you by chance see anything about his credential, please share.
No, I'm not into sker's credential thingy; I judge a skier's skiing by his or her performance, not credentials.

Thanks for the info, yup, 10+ years on the mountains, I have forgotten quite a bit on these mundane (單挑/currency exchange etc.) thingy.

And yes, you need to plan early if you wish to come to Tahoe for a skiing vacation, especially during holidays, it would be very busy around town, you need to book lodging early. And if you plan to ski more than five days, it'd worth the trouble looking into the "Tahoe Value" pass,

Good luck, :)
