Shalom race is considered the most technical event but on downhill event, the force is like tearing the skier apart so a extremely strong body is required to stand the force.taichiskiing 寫:In early days European skiing, Slalom was regarded as the "king of the hills," but Downhill skiing was the "king of the mountains," and still is,

I think it is the faster speed and the high-G turn that are what make the downhill skiing/line-skiing more exciting than the slalom skiing/turn-skiing for both skiers and speculators. Downhill skiing is "no guts, no glory," not for the faint hearts; see how two of the top three racers crashed through the finish line on that particular race, they are running/skiing at the edge of their ability to hold on their skis.pku 寫:Shalom race is considered the most technical event but on downhill event, the force is like tearing the skier apart so a extremely strong body is required to stand the force.
